DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language)

Diploma de Español (Nivel Inicial)
The Diploma de Español (Nivel Intermedio) exam proves sufficient linguistic ability to understand and to deal with the most common situations of everyday life, such as formulating questions and expressing one's needs in simple language.

1. Reading comprehension (40 minutes)
Extracting necessary information from a text, answers in the form of a multiple choice questionnaire.
2. Writing (50 minutes)
Writing small texts (notes, notices, postcards, etc.)
3. Listening comprehension (30 minutes)
Understanding a simple conversation
4. Grammar and vocabulary (40 minutes)
Different tasks which prove your knowledge of the grammar and basic vocabulary
5. Oral exam (10 minutes)
Conversation with the examiner about a photo or a picture


Diploma de Español (Nivel Intermedio)
The  Diploma de Español (Nivel Intermedio) exam proves sufficient linguistic ability to deal with everyday situations. to engage in circumstances of normal communication which sometimes demand a specialised use of the language.

1. Reading comprehension (60 minutes)
Multiple choice questionnaire based on 4 texts
2. Writing (60 minutes)
Writing of a letter and an essay
3. Listening comprehension (30 minutes)
Multiple choice questionnaire based on a recorded text
4. Grammar and vocabulary (60 minutes)
Different tasks which prove an in-depth knowledge of the grammar and a large vocabulary.
5. Oral exam (10 minutes)
Conversation with the examiner about a photo or a picture


Diploma de Español (Nivel Superior)
The Diploma de Español (Nivel Superior) exam proves necessary linguistic ability to deal with situations which demand a very good command of the language and its culture.

1. Reading comprehension  (60 minutes)
Understanding of text extracts and a multiple choice questionnaire based on 3 texts
2. Writing (60 minutes)
Writing of a professional letter and an essay
3. Listening comprehension  (45 minutes)
Multiple choice questionnaire based on 4 recorded texts
4. Grammar and vocabulary (60 minutes)
Different tasks which prove a very in-depth knowledge of the grammar and suitable vocabulary for different situations.
5. Oral exam (10-15 minutes)
Being able to hold a conversation for 10-15 minutes.
